Background:
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. After graduating from Terra Linda High School, I moved to Sacramento to attend California State University, Sacramento, where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1983. Even better, it was in Sacramento where I met my wonderful wife, Johanna.
Johanna and I were married in 1985 and spent the last 27 years loving life in the Sacramento area. After many wonderful years enjoying each other, God blessed us with two incredible children, our son, Joshua, and daughter, Jordyn. I can’t express the joy I have thinking about each of them and us together, other than saying that every day together is a gift.
After spending a number of years as a sales representative with Mother’s Cookie Company (yes, the pink and white circus animal cookies), I decided to go to law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and in 2001 received my law degree, with a concentration in taxation. Since graduation, I have been fortunate enough to be associated with three fantastic law firms in the Sacramento area, each specializing in Trusts and Estates. Now, my path has been blessed once again with my new family members at DenHerder & Associates.
I am so thankful to be working with Stacy and the rest of the team here at DenHerder & Associates to assist you and your family with your estate planning needs. I provide compassion, attention to detail, and peace of mind to my clients and look forward to doing the same for you. In addition, my background in taxation and my opportunities to work with high net worth families has allowed me to address the needs of families that would, without planning, lose over half of their estate to taxes. The more sophisticated planning that includes irrevocable trusts, complex partnerships, and other estate planning vehicles is an area in which I thrive. More importantly, I am excited to join the philosophy of DenHerder & Associates which helps families explore a path of wealth transition that brings families together, rather than tearing them apart.
