Background:
As an attorney and Director of Trust Administration at DenHerder Grier & Associates, I draw on more than two decades of experience in wealth management, banking, and business operations to help clients navigate complex financial and legal matters with confidence and clarity.
Before becoming a practicing attorney, I built my career in banking, private wealth management, and business operations. I began in banking and later moved into private banking, where I worked with high-net-worth clients on financial planning, investments, and business matters. I subsequently joined U.S. Trust, the first trust company established in the United States, where I served as a Vice President working with ultra-high-net-worth families on wealth management, business succession, and generational wealth transition.
My career also included six years serving as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer of a construction company. In that role, I oversaw finance, operations, regulatory and tax matters, and the systems supporting a workforce of more than 90 employees. That experience gave me a practical understanding of business ownership, financial management, and the complexities that can arise when personal wealth and closely held businesses intersect.
My professional relationship with Stacy DenHerder dates back to 2008, when we first met during my private banking career. Years later, the opportunity to combine my experience in wealth management, banking, business operations, and trust-related matters with the practice of law brought me to DenHerder Grier & Associates. Today, I focus on helping families navigate trust administration and probate following the loss of a loved one, bringing both technical experience and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to each matter.
Outside of my legal practice, I serve on the board of a nonprofit organization and remain actively involved in the Japanese-American community. As the son of a Japanese mother and a veteran father, I value service, community, and maintaining a strong connection to Japanese culture while helping preserve that connection for future generations.
