Background:
I have a passion for helping people and for making difficult situations manageable. I also have a passion for finance and running businesses. Although I am a newly admitted attorney, my background and expertise lead me to exactly where I am supposed to be: as the Director of Trust Administration at DenHerder •Grier & Associates.

I started my career in banking and eventually moved into Private banking assisting high net-worth clients with their financial planning, investments and business planning. This is where I first met Stacy DenHerder in 2008. Stacy encouraged me to go to law school to further my career. After working in banking for over 12 years, I moved on to assist ultra-high net worth clients in wealth management at a trust company, U.S. Trust, where I focused on helping families with businesses transition their wealth to the next generation. I was persuaded to leave that job to go to work as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer of a construction management firm. I helped that firm go from struggling to thriving over a 6 year period and during that time I dealt with Unions, International Tariffs, the IRS and Franchise Tax Board, revamping the entire management system to manage 90+ employees and track profit and loss. At the end of that six years, I had gained years of insight into business, finance, and management of people. The company was running like a well-oiled machine, but for me, something was missing: that desire to truly help others, not just make a profit. In the two years before I joined DG&A, Stacy kept urging me to take the Bar exam and join her in her law firm…so I took the leap of faith…took the bar, left the executive role and joined DG&A. I can honestly say this has been a rewarding leap…I have loved meeting our clients and helping them through the tumultuous time that comes from the death of a loved one.

When I am not serving our clients, I enjoy spending time with my family, my dog, and volunteering teaching Japanese art classes. My mother is Japanese, and my father was a Veteran, and I enjoy giving back to my community by traveling all over Southern California each weekend to teach and guide the next generation Japanese Americans who want to stay connected to their culture.
